Pakistan, China, Afghanistan reaffirm trilateral cooperation in Beijing meeting
Beijing: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held an informal trilateral meeting in Beijing today with Member of the CPC Political Bureau and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The three sides reaffirmed their commitment to trilateral cooperation as an essential platform for promoting regional security, stability, and economic connectivity. Discussions focused on enhancing diplomatic engagement, improving communication channels, and taking practical measures to strengthen trade, infrastructure, and development as core elements of shared prosperity.
They also agreed to further deepen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and expand the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to include Afghanistan. The Foreign Ministers expressed a shared determination to combat terrorism and reinforce efforts for lasting peace and development across the region.
It was mutually agreed that the 6th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be convened in Kabul at an early, mutually convenient date.
